About Rafael's Pizza (Rafael Kitchen + Pizza)

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 7 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Rafael's Pizza (Rafael Kitchen + Pizza) at (714) 884-4559; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 432 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded pizza restaurants in Santa Ana.

Santa Ana is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Santa Ana is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Came here both Saturday and Sunday and both servers i had were fabulous! Kenya took very good care of my mother and me, made sure to help me with her wheelchair and carrying things. Very sweet. Claudia was very hospitable and friendly! Paid a lot of attention to my dad and me and laughed at his bad jokes. This is my FAVOURITE breakfast and lunch spot. Highly recommend to come anytime! Every person here smiles and greets you. I always feel welcome.

I loved Rafael's at their old location. I thought they had gone out of business but was haPppy to find out they had just moved locations. Unfortunately the new location is an absolute nightmare. Parking but you need to is all paid and the closest parking is nearly a block away from the restaurant. They do validate parking through a QR code but if you don't know your license plate you have to walk back to your car to get it. The pizza is still the same pizza, but their lunch specials changed and aren't special at all. You used to be agle to get two slices and a soda for $12. Now it is a 6" personal pizza (about the size of a single slice at the old location) and a soda for $15. So you get half the food for 25% more money. Maybe they get charged for validating parking so they bake that into their prices? If you work in the offices near the new location and want to walk over I would recommend the pizza. But the value is gone and if you used to go to the old location, the new location isn't for you.

Wow, just wow! The owner and his family and employees are all amazing. Friendly and treat you like family! Means a lot when your from out of town too and have a friends daughter with you who crys happy tears when they tell her the pastry she wanted is on the house. AMAZING... Penne Pasta w/ chicken was to die for and exactly what my daughter wanted. Pasta done to perfection, sauce fresh and very tasty. Wings dry rub lemon pepper house made, perfectly crispyπŸ‘Œ and the Truffle fries that walked by smelt unbelievable. Will be back probably in the morning for coffee and the next time we are in Cali.

After a long day of walking at the Costa Mesa Plaza, we want to load up on carbs and decided to come here. We ordered the vegetarian pizza, chicken Alfredo pizza, chicken Alfredo pasta, and potato wedges. I have to say - the vegetarian pizza was excellent. Veggies were well cut, well spread out, and the pizza had just the right amount of cheese. The dough was crunchy but not too hard. Very refreshing with a lot of flavor exploding in your mouth. The chicken Alfredo pizza and pasta were on par, and the potato wedges well warm, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. My whole family really had a great and welcoming experience because the owner made us feel welcome. Highly recommend this location to pizza lovers!

UPDATE: As promised, I gave Rafael's another try today, 10/9/21. I called it in and ordered the same pizza well done. It was accurate and made promptly. I received a text again once it was ready and pick up was quick. As notes on my last reveiw, overall the pizza was good and it was even better this time around. Definitely recommend Rafael's. Updated photo included as well. Original Review: Okay, so I dont like writing bad reviews on small businesses unless it's absolutely warranted. 3 stars isn't what I consider bad, but I'll give them another try and update me review after my next visit. Flavor was good, I ordered online and there was no where to add comments and I usually like my pizza well done. I will call it in next time and ask for it to be made well done. Service was prompt and pick up time was accurate. I also liked that they sent me a text notification when my order was ready. Nice touch! Location was great, inside it looked very clean and I could have probably ordered and eaten my pizza there as they had a TV with the game on and plenty of seating available. Lastly, the reason for my 3 stars. I order a large, half pepperoni w/sausage and half pepperoni, pineapple
